  • Each month a photographer may submit a maximum of four (4) photographs
  • A maximum number of two (2) photographs may be submitted in the following categories:
    • Set Subject: each month’s submission is allocated a specific set theme. The set subject themes are voted for by the club members on an annual basis and provided in January each year. For the list of themes for this year please see the top of this page. Photos entered in this category must have been taken within the previous 12 months.
    • Members Challenge: an open category that may contain any subject. This is your chance to get creative and stretch your photography skills. The photos entered in this category must have been taken during the previous 3 months.
  • If you submit four images, at least one of them must be monochrome. If you fail to submit a monochrome your lowest scoring image will be deducted from your total score for the year.
  • Submission of photos for judging is handled via Photovault Online, which is linked above.
  •  A separate document, which fully describes the submission procedure may be provided if required.
  • All submitted photos are examined and scored.
  • Critiques are also provided which assist photographers in perfecting their techniques, thereby improving their photographic skills.
  • Members’ progress is assessed in accordance with a star rating system as defined by the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA), of which the club is a member.
  • Photos submitted by 1-3 star members are judged internally by our 4 and 5 star members
  • Photos submitted by 4 and 5 star members are judged by qualified external judges from other photographic clubs
  • The members of our club exhibit a wide range of photographic skills as well as experience and we encourage everyone to “join in” by submitting photos, irrespective of individual skill level.
